Shelby has diplomas in Recreational and Leisure Services, Social Service Worker-Gerontology and after taking time off for family responsibilities: Medical Office Administrator, as a second career.

Shelby worked in Long Term Care for over 17 years in positions that oversaw resident admissions and recreational needs, staff recruitment and training, volunteer services, and as liaison between community organizations, families and the home. Shelby has done contract work with the Health Unit in triaging calls and being first point of contact for the public when setting up appointments and answering general inquiries. She also completed a placement at University Hospital on a general surgery inpatient unit, coordinating patients for various diagnostic procedures, tests and discharge home or to other facilities.

Shelby joined the London Audiology Consultants team in May 2022, and is often found behind the reception desk at the Colborne office, and the voice on the phone at reminder calls or when booking appointments.
