Mary graduated with a diploma in Medical Administration from Fanshawe in 1982. The following year, she started working with Margaret – who at the time was working as an Audiologist with a local ENT doctor – as medical administration.
After LAC formed in 1985, Mary took online training and in-office training/mentorship to become a Hearing Instrument Dispenser (HID) and in 1990 wrote the government exam to become an accredited HID, and became a member of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario.
Mary attended in-person training where she learned to do in-house repairs and now has many years of experience in counselling clients on their hearing loss, counselling/guiding patients on their hearing aid journey, and getting people to a place where they have improved hearing and communication.
Over the years, Mary has continued her professional development by attending in-person and online training/webinars and accumulated over 400 hours of CEU credits, constantly learning and keeping up to date on hearing aid technology. She continues to complete CEU’s on an annual basis. Mary is also a part of our Parkwood team, where she provides in-service care to the hearing impaired Veterans that reside there.
