Using silver-zinc technology gives an advantage over previously available rechargeable batteries. The technology is very stable, safe, and has a much smaller footprint than Lithium-ion, which means much smaller hearing aids. For many models, if you forget to charge your hearing aid you can use a regular disposable battery.
